The artwork featured on the bottom of the dish is from artist Vladimir Tzenov. Born in Bulgaria, Tzenov has become known the world over for his beautifully precise, lifelike animal illustrations. Each breed is depicted in brilliant color and sharp detail, along with the artist’s signature. A set of paw print silhouettes rings the outside of the dish to create a charming theme.
The 5.5 inch diameter by 2 inch deep dish is manufactured of fine porcelain ceramic. During the firing process, the colorful artwork is baked into the ceramic bisque, so the colors and detail are permanent. Before the final firing, the bowl receives a full coat of high-quality, non-toxic clear gloss glaze, to create a finish that’s durable and lustrous.
