This genuine cast-iron fire hydrant (without internal workings) features a flute barrel and top stock design, the same design manufactured for use in the late 19th century. It is made by a company that has been manufacturing fire hydrants in America for over 150 years.
The striking hydrant comes with a name plate, which can, of course, be personalized. Your personalization, up to 8 characters, will be engraved in capital letters on an aluminum plate. Have your dog’s name, significant date or special sentiment engraved on the metal plate. It will be color coordinated to match the color of hydrant selected and will hang from a stainless steel chain.
In addition, the hydrant is available with an optional urn/memento canister, which can be placed inside by simply unscrewing four bolts to remove the hydrant’s top. The canister has the words “My Faithful Friend and Companion” written on it and can be used to store your cherished canine’s ashes or small mementos, such as tags or collars. Each screw-top metal canister measures 7.5" in height by 2.75" in diameter and approximately holds 17 oz or 30.68 cubic inches. (Typically, one urn canister is sufficient for the ashes of small and medium sized dogs. Larger dogs may require two canisters, both of which will fit inside.)
The hydrant is supplied with four 12-inch stakes to secure it in place. Simply place the stakes through the slots in the bottom flange to anchor it to the ground.
