Strollers can offer several advantages over leashes or standard carriers when
walking or jogging with your dog. The most obvious advantage for pet owners is
the ability to easily push a stroller rather than bearing the weight of a
handheld carrier or risking becoming tangled in a leash. Strollers also provide
a buffer zone for passersby and help reduce the possibility of confrontations
with people or other pets. In addition, dogs with joint or weight problems, or
recovering from surgeries can enjoy the fresh air with their owners with less
risk of causing or aggravating injuries.
A stroller should be equipped with large ventilation panels and windows that provide pets with plenty of fresh air and good visibility. It should also feature convenient openings for access. If you jog or go on “off road” with your dog, you should consider a stroller with larger wheels and that is made for all terrains. Storage compartments or baskets are a big plus, making it easier to transport your items, as well as pet essentials.
