The Cocker Spaniel, the smallest breed of the sporting dog group, has a sturdy compact body. They are easily recognized by their long fluffy ears. Cocker Spaniels also have a very distinctive long flowing silky coat, which can come in a wide variety of shades. The Cocker Spaniel is a friendly and energetic dog but not hyperactive. Being hunting dogs, they like to forage and are always up for a game of fetch. Cocker Spaniels are affectionate and eager to please, making them good companion dogs.
